My family's stone house, locked with three padlocks. During a traditional celebration, the eligible men cut down the tallest, longest, and straightest pine tree and plant it in the village square. My great-grandmother and her daughter were killed in the same spot 70 years earlier. A double femicide, committed in front of everyone, but never spoken of until now.
